Richard Henry Brusie

Richard Henry Brusie, 86 of Copake Falls, NY passed peacefully on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at Fairview Commons in Gt. Barrington, MA.

He was born on October 30, 1936 in Hillsdale the son of John and Minnie (Pedal) Brusie.

Richard was a graduate of Roeliff Jansen Central School in Hillsdale, class of 1954 and later joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany.

Upon his return from Germany in 1958 he started work at the Ancram Paper Mill retiring in 1995 as an electrician. Shortly after retiring he returned to work for a short time as a consultant.

Richard was a lifelong member of the Hillsdale United Methodist Church and a member of the former Copake Fire Company #2. He sang in a number of Community choirs and over the years at several weddings and churches.

He loved his birds, squirrels and cats (including the strays). Every day they all got fed.

Richard was pre deceased by his siblings, Barbara Cooper of Glendale, MA, Howard Brusie of Millerton, NY, Gerald Brusie of Hillsdale, NY and Sheila Finger of Lincolndale, NY.

He leaves his beloved wife of 63 years Carolyn Elizabeth (Brengel) Brusie; his children, Deborah Wright (Owen) of Mill River, MA, David Brusie (Lisa) of Copake Falls and Darlene Tompkins (Danny) of Copake Falls. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
