Madeline E. Musgrove

Madeline Elizabeth Musgrove, 103, of Stamford, CT passed away peacefully on August 21, 2022 at The Bristol, Assisted Living Facility in Armonk.

She was born on June 24, 1919 in Ancramdale; she was the daughter of William Sr. and Eulena (Niver) Baulkwill and sister to William Jr.

Madeline graduated from Pine Plains High School in 1938. She then went on to attend Secretarial Junior College in Milford, CT where she graduated in 1940.

At that time her family moved to White Plains, where she resided until her marriage to Lester Joseph Musgrove on June 7, 1952. 

Madeline worked at Penn Mutual Insurance Company in NYC, before moving to a long career in the banking industry. She survived multiple bank mergers over the years and ultimately retired from Wells Fargo Bank.

Madeline is survived by 2 Nephews Bill & Charlie Baulkwill, Niece Valerie Desimone, 6 Great nephews/nieces; 3 great great nieces/nephews. She was predeceased by Lester in 2010. 

Madeline enjoyed square dancing on nights and weekends for many years. She and Lester were part of a square dance exhibition at the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. She loved lighthouses of all shapes and sizes. Her desserts at family functions were legendary. She and Lester vacationed regularly in Florida and at Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire. She was a breast cancer survivor and a wonderful Aunt and friend to all who knew her, always with a ready smile and a positive attitude. We’ll remember her giggles and sense of humor the most.

She was a loving Aunt to her two nephews William R. Baulkwill III (Melissa) of Herndon, VA, Charles A. Baulkwill (Donna) of Katonah, NY, and Niece Valerie Baulkwill Desimone (Beau) of Hawthorne, NY.  She was a dedicated Great Aunt to her six Nephews/Nieces: William B. Baulkwill (Kendall), Katherine Baulkwill Robertson (James), Abbey Baulkwill, Matthew Baulkwill, Nicole Desimone, and Michael Desimone; as well as two Great Great Nieces Aria Baulkwill, and

Cadence Baulkwill and Great Great Nephew Hunter Robertson.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 27 from 10:00am at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 8063 Route 22, Copake, NY. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am.

Interment will follow in Hillsdale Rural Cemetery, Hillsdale, NY.
