Karl Ludwig Gerke

Karl Ludwig Gerke, 59 of Copake, NY passed away on Monday September 23, 2019 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY.

He was born on October 5, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY the son of August and Linda (Mahnken) Gerke.

A local resident since 1998 Karl had been employed as a department manager at the Hudson Wal – Mart.

Karl was a life member of the NRA and a former member of the Millerton Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsmen and sportsmen enjoying hunting, fishing and the peace and tranquility of the woods and water.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen Mary (Harte) Gerke of Copake; his daughter Kathleen Elizabeth Gerke of Copake and three sons, James Peacock of Chatham, Brian Peacock of Copake and Michael Peacock of Catskill. In addition he leaves his grandchildren, Julian, Leah, Carter, Seamus and Vera along with a sister, Linda Brando of Long Island.

Friends are invited and may call on both Saturday and Sunday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00 AM from the Parish of Our Lady of Hope, 8074 Route 22 in Copake Falls, NY. The Rev. George Brennan will officiate.

Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.

As a generous caring man in life he continued so at the time of his passing as an organ donor.
