Joan Dianda Obituary

Joan Dianda was called to Heaven on Friday April 9, 2021. Joan was born in the Bronx, October 15, 1932 to Joseph and Margaret Martino. Joan is survived by her husband Gene Dianda they were married for 67 years.

They shared many adventures together they met at a church dance in the Bronx and after they were married they lived in Germany for a time while Gene was in the army. When they returned to the states they lived in Woodside, NY where Joan sold Avon door to door until they decided to move upstate June 27, 1961.  Then with their young family they moved to West Taghkanic where they ran Gene’s Taconic Shell together for many years.  In January 1970 Joan & Gene purchased  the West Taghkanic Diner and for over 17 years people sought out, her world famous Minestrone Soup which was a favorite among the customers.  Joan loved doing crafts and shared that passion with her grandchildren.  With her kind and thoughtful nature, she made cards and magnets for people in nursing homes, friends and family for every holiday. After retiring in 1988 they traveled together and spent winters in Florida.
