Harold Ball Obituary

Harold (Toddy) C. Ball, 85, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 1, 2023. He was born in Stanfordville on September 14, 1938 to the late Raymond and Hazel (Fridah) Ball. On February 23, 1963 he married the love of his life, Martha (Muller) Ball, who survives him at home. Together they enjoyed 60 years of marriage, family, dancing, taking cruises and annual family beach vacations. He was a very caring man who enjoyed time with his family always making time to attend sporting events for his children and grandchildren.

Harold worked at IBM until retirement. Never one to be idle, he went to on to be the town tax collector and eventually drove school bus at the Pine Plains School District. Harold was also an avid golfer who played weekly and greatly enjoyed spending time busting chops with his friends.

Harold is survived by his wife Martha, his son Todd and wife Lisa Ball, daughter, Rebecca Ruger. His five grandchildren; Clarissa, Ana, Lilianna, Emma and Parker. His brother, James Ball and sister Cora Marie Shook and her husband Walter, sisters in-law Nancy Ball and Margaret Gillis, and brother in-law Fred Meriam, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother Raymond Ball, and sister in-law, Sophia Meriam, and two brother in-laws, Francis Gillis and John D. Muller. 

In keeping with Harold’s wishes no services will be held. Donations in his memory may be made to the Pine Plains Rescue Squad or Lions Club.
