Gary E. Johnson

Gary Johnson, 74, passed away surrounded by his family on February 5, 2023 at Mid Hudson Regional Medical Center in Poughkeepsie. He was born in Oceanside, NY on July 7, 1948 to the late William and Dorothy (Keutman) Johnson. On January 20, 1974 at the United Methodist Church in Lawrence, NY he married Gale Shanley. Together they shared 49 years of marriage. In 1983, they moved to Stanfordville. Gary worked for HG Page as a salesman of building materials. He had an affinity with wood and appreciated its natural beauty. 

Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling. His favorite places to travel were any where in the Caribbean, specifically Jamaica. He especially enjoyed spending time with his loving grandchildren and was a proud grandfather. He was also an avid sports fan, who enjoyed the Mets & the Jets. 
Gary is survived by his wife Gale and his two sons, Ryan Johnson and Brendan and his wife Deanna Johnson. His four grandchildren, Liam, Lilliana, Rocco and Domenica. In addition to his brother Bruce Johnson and sister, Jill Johnson. 

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. A funeral service will be held from the funeral home on Thursday  at 10:00 am.Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
