Eleanor P. Carr

        Eleanor P. Carr, 90, of Poughkeepsie, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2022, at her residence. She was born on August 30, 1932, in Milan to the late Cecil B. Dykeman Sr. and Anna M. (Coons) Dykeman.  

Eleanor was a wonderful homemaker and was very devoted to her family. She was an excellent cook and baker who was especially proud of her cookies and brownies. Prior to her retirement, she worked at OTB with her late husband Fredrick Carr, who predeceased her in 2018. She was also a long time AVON beauty representative for many years. Eleanor enjoyed traveling the north east and especially enjoyed Cape Cod and Newport, Rhode Island. She also enjoyed spending time with her “Coffee Circle” friends. 

Eleanor is survived by her two devoted daughters, Patricia and her husband, Michael Boggs, and Nancy Twomlow and her fiancé Dave Harris. Her loving granddaughters, Laura and her husband Jason Gagnon, and Megan Boggs and fiancé Patrick O’Connor. Three adoring great grandchildren, Eleanor, Julian and Basil Gagnon. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara and her husband Richard Carlson. In addition to her sister-in-law, Audrey Dykeman. 

Eleanor was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Twomlow, her son Daniel Twomlow, brother Cecil Dykeman Jr. and her sister and brother-in-law Loretta and Fredrick Marshall. 

A time for sharing memories and offering condolences will be on Monday, December 5, 2022, beginning at 12 noon from Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 S. Main Street, Pine Plains. A graveside service will follow, beginning at 1:00pm at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains.
