Carmela Policastro Obituary

Carmela “Millie” Policastro, 91 of Route 23 in Craryville, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday March 30, 2019 at the Whittier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Ghent, NY.

She was born on February 21, 1928 in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of Anthony and Margaret (Lamboglia) Goglia.

Along with her family they built and operated the Elm Tree Restaurant and Motel in Craryville for several years where she and her sister were in charge of all the cooking.

Millie was pre deceased by her husband Gerald Policastro in 1978 and a sister, Sara Marcelli in 1994.

Survivors include her son Gerald Policastro of Craryville and a daughter Marjorie Dawes of Florida. She also leaves a grandson, Nicholas Policastro of Craryville.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson NY.
