Barbara Bray

Barbara Bray, 85, of Stanfordville, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. She was born on January 7, 1937 in Binghamton. The daughter of William and Ethel (Green) Bray, who grew up in the Bronx until moving to Stanfordville in 1964. Her parents bought one of the first cottages on Hunns Lake and Barbara absolutely fell in love with the lake and area.

Barbara worked for the Bank of Millbrook for 34 years before retiring as Assistant Vice President. In retirement she enjoyed traveling and had taken trips to Europe and Alaska. A travel story that her sister will always cherish is when the Bray sisters took a train across country. Barbara had a wonderful sense of humor. She loved animals, especially her dogs over the years. Also, she was active with the Stanfordville Seniors. 

Barbara is survived by her devoted sister and brother, Joan Whelan and William Bray. Her sister in law Alison Bray, and four nieces and eight nephews. 

In keeping with Barbara’s wishes, inurnment will take place privately at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bangall.
