Alfred Conti Obituary

Alfred John Conti, 76 of Copake, NY and previously of Brooklyn, NY passed away on Tuesday March 2, 2021 at his residence.

 

He was born on April 9, 1944 in Malta, a son of the late John and Marie (Gelfo) Conti.

 

Alfred proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army Reserves from 1965 – 1971 as a sergeant and medic. A patriot at heart, he was a member of the American Legion.

 

He was employed as a watch engineer with Local # 30 at Ogden Allied/ABM in Manhattan. Alfred had a love of Lionel trains and also enjoyed restoring his 1937 Buick Model 41 Series with side mounts with his son. While residing in Brooklyn he built the family a Nativity scene as a devotion to his faith.

 

Survivors include his beloved wife Barbara (DeCherico) Conti and loving son John Dominick Conti both of Copake. He also leaves his sister Carmen DePresco, brothers Emmanuel and William Conti and a sister in law and her husband Stephanie and Bruce Bernhard.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 8, 2021 at 10 AM from St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 213 Main St,, Gt. Barrington, MA with the Rev. William Murphy officiating.

 

Friends are invited and may call on Sunday March 7, 2021 from 2 – 5 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake NY.

 

Private interment will be held at a later date.
