Walter “Boots” Molinski, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025 at the age of 92 in Hudson, NY. He lived a life full of purpose, strength, and deep connection with people and the world around him.
Born with a tireless spirit and a strong work ethic, Walter began his journey into adulthood on his uncle’s dairy farm, where early mornings and hard labor shaped the foundation of a life dedicated to perseverance and integrity. His sense of duty and service led him to proudly serve in the United States Coast Guard, where he exemplified commitment and honor.
Following his military service, he built a long and respected career with Mid-Hudson Sprinkler, a fire protection company, where he was known not only for his skill and precision but for his dependability and work ethic that never wavered.
Walter lived life with vigor and embraced health and wellness long before it was fashionable. He cultivated an organic garden each year, took pride in nourishing himself and his family with wholesome food, and maintained a rigorous fitness routine that included weightlifting and bodybuilding. His dedication to physical fitness was lifelong, and his strength – both physical and personal – inspired those around him.
An avid outdoorsman, Walter found joy and peace in nature. He delighted in camping, hiking, canoeing, fishing, and scuba diving. His adventures were many, and his enthusiasm for exploring the outdoors was infectious.
He was a master of the dance floor, always ready to take to the floor with a smile on his face. But perhaps more than anything, Walter was a talker – a storyteller, a friend to anyone he met. He had a gift for conversation, and he genuinely loved connecting with people. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and connection - a life well-lived, a man well-loved.
He is survived by his five children- Nanette (Bill) Rawling, W. Jimmy (Tammy) Molinski, Alisa (Stephen) Lyon, Jeanne Schroeder (Sean Gillard), John (Jan) Molinski. He also has 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. His family will carry his memory forward with love and gratitude.
Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Adele (Tuppi) Molinski in 2023.
