Roxanne Sheldon of Hudson, New York went home to be with the Lord on November 18, 2025 after a courageous three year battle with cancer. Born on April 11, 1951, in Rhinebeck, the daughter of Victor and Dorothy (Sherman) Quinn. She graduated from Red Hook High School in 1969. In May of that year, she met the love of her life, Gerald Sheldon and the two were married on July 24, 1971. She was known for her thoughtful, caring, and selfless nature. Roxanne's commitment to family and faith were the cornerstone of her being, as she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and anyone that spent a moment with her could feel her love of life.
In her professional career, Roxanne began working for Connor, Curran & Schram in Hudson before her and Gerry moved to various cities including Williamsville, New York and Weathersfield, Connecticut. Working in a number of church offices along the way. Her dedication to her work was matched only by her commitment to her family and faith, which remained her proudest accomplishments. Roxanne had a strong faith that guided her through life's challenges and celebrated its joys.
Her creativity and careful thought were evident in the cards and gifts she gave, which held special meaning for anyone lucky enough to receive one. Holidays and birthdays were made brighter through her meticulous selection process, and her grandchildren eagerly anticipated her unique gifts, knowing they were both personal and significant. Her caring nature extended to animals, as she lovingly cared for a number of rescue dogs over the years.
Roxanne is survived by her devoted husband, Gerald Sheldon, and her beloved sons, Kyle (Shannon), Daryn, and Travis (Kerry). She is the cherished grandmother to Christopher, Damien, Gracelyn, Anastasia, Simon, Quinn, Declan, and Maire, and a proud great-grandmother to Beckham. She leaves behind her sister, Suzanne (Steven) Bergstein, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Victor Quinn Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held on November 29, 2025, at Immanuel Church, located at 274 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, New York. The celebration will begin at 11:00 AM, with a service at 11:30 AM. Inurnment will take place privately in Cedar Park Cemetery, Hudson.
Roxanne will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose legacy of kindness and devotion to family will continue to inspire those she left behind.
