Oren "Sonny" J. Race Jr.

Oren "Sonny" J. Race Jr., of Hudson, born on July 22, 1952, in Connecticut, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2026, at Pine Haven Nursing Home. Sonny was a beloved member of his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He had a remarkable eye for a variety of items, which was reflected in his diverse hobbies and interests. He was fond of collecting newspapers and watches, treasures that showcased his appreciation for history and craftsmanship. His love for Hess trucks was particularly notable, as they symbolized the joy in collecting items that brought him happiness. He was an avid reader and spent a good portion of life reading one of the many books he had. Sonny loved to keep track of the weather, he was one of a kind. 

Sonny is survived by his loving sisters, Dawn (John) Porreca and Deborah; his brothers, Scott and Michael (Lynne). He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews, who will carry forward his memory through their own lives and stories.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orien and Ruth Race, as well as his sisters, Anita and Sherry and brothers Leonard, Wade and Robert.

Sonny's presence will be felt long after his departure as he touched the lives of many, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.
