Norma Tamburrino, 97, was called to rest with God on Sunday, December 21, at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend.
Norma was born on April 7, 1928 in Brooklyn, New York. She was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Irene Cicconetti. She worked at the former Wassaic Developmental Center in Wassaic, New York as head cook in the hospital kitchen.
On December 14, 1946, she married William Tamburrino (Bill) in Brooklyn and they were married for 59 years. She loved a good adventure, including taking long rides and vacationing in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Maine. She also enjoyed taking in a beautiful sunset while listening to her favorite music.
Norma was devoted to her family and treasured every moment spent together. She loved to prepare family recipes and keep tradition. She will be remembered by her family as a great listener, strong in faith, loving and kind. She possessed a quiet strength, integrity and humility.
Norma is survived by her son William (Valerie) Tamburrino, daughters, Louise Woodcock & Renee (Dan) Richard, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, her brother Vincent (James) Cicconetti, sister Antoinette Lanci, son-in-law Lloyd Woodcock and Anita Duncan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday, January 3, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church in Millbrook, New York. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, Pine Plains, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation, 80 Washington Street, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
