Nicholas H. Hedges, 30, of Elizaville, passed away suddenly on June 21, 2026. He was born on March 9, 1996, to Arthur and the late Gina (Miller) Hedges.
From a young age, Nicholas displayed a keen intellect with the outdoors. He was an Eagle Scout in troop 32, and graduated from Pine Plains Central School in 2014. He earned an Associates of Science from the University of Purdue and a Bachelor of Science from Pacific Lutheran College. His academic journey did not end there; at the time of his passing, he was pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy at Tufts University in Boston, a testament to his dedication to learning and his passion for helping others.
Nicholas also served his country honorably in the United States Army as a medic. His time in service exemplified his selflessness and unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.
Adventurous and outgoing, Nick cherished traveling the country and exploring National Parks, along side his parents, creating lasting memories amidst the beauty of nature. He found great joy in fishing and hunting, and delighted in running alongside his loyal dog, Milo.
His dedication, kindness, and adventurous spirit have left an indelible mark on his loved ones. Those who were fortunate enough to know Nick will remember his passion for life, his gentle strength, and his enduring loyalty.
Nicolas is survived by his father, Arthur Hedges, his half-sister, Heather Pappalardi, and half brothers Chris Rielly and Nathan Hedges. He held a special place in the lives of his nieces, Gabby and Julianna Pappalardi, Isabella, Charlotte, and Fiona Hedges, as well as his nephew, Jacob Hedges. His extended family, including his uncle Scott (Margo) Miller, Aunt Jennifer Kennington, and Uncle Michael Miller. In addition to several cousins, buddies and friends.
Nick will be deeply missed, and he will be remembered for his gentle strength, his enduring loyalty and his passion for life.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and offer condolences from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 at Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains, NY.
