Melissa Swart

Melissa Swart, 58, formerly of Pine Plains, passed away on December 21, 2025, at her home in Rosendale, New York. She was born on June 19, 1967, in Sharon, Connecticut to the late Earl and Eunice (Doyle) Swart. A dedicated Administrative Assistant at Deveroux in Red Hook, Melissa was known for her professionalism and meticulous attention to detail.

Melissa possessed a zest for life that extended beyond her career. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, particularly relishing vacations, including cherished trips to Ocean City, Maryland. Her interests also included reading and attending concerts. Socializing with friends was another joy of Melissa’s. Oftentimes going out to dinner and enjoying company of those close to her.

Melissa is survived by her siblings, Linda (Paul) Treanor, Jim (Tina) Swart, Doreen (Jim) Weisner, and David (Justine) Swart. She is survived by three nephews, Keith, Luke, and Josh, as well as three nieces, Caitlin, Alyson, and Ashlee. In addition to five great nephews and one great niece. She is also survived by her beloved companion cat, Optimus.

As we reflect on Melissa’s life, it is clear that her legacy will live on through the fond memories shared by her family and friends. In keeping with her wishes there will be no formal services held. Arrangements have been entrusted to Peck & Peck Funeral Homes.
