Mark Steven Tripp, 59, of Hillsdale, NY passed away on October 1, 2026, at Home Sweet Home on the Hudson in Catskill. He was born on May 14, 1967, in Hudson, New York the son of Bernice and Allen Tripp.
Mark will be remembered as a man who found joy in simple pleasures and in the outdoors he loved so much. He was self-employed as a landscaper, a calling well suited to someone who enjoyed working with the earth and spending his days outside. Gardening and being outdoors were among the things that brought him happiness, and he also enjoyed fishing and camping. He loved his four wheeler, which he called “Chugg-a-Lug,” and he had a soft heart for taking care of stray cats.
Above all, Mark leaves behind the people who knew and loved him. Along with his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Tom (Maria) Tripp and Dewitt (Amanda) Tripp and his sister, Jennifer (Jamie) Robinson. Their bond as siblings remained an important part of his life. Mark is also lovingly remembered by his nieces, Kayla, Christina, Emily, and Hannah, and by his nephew, Brandon as well as several great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his best friend, Steve Beauchamp, whose friendship meant a great deal to him.
His family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff and residents at Home Sweet Home on the Hudson in Catskill for their kindness, patience, compassion, and friendship. Their care and support were deeply appreciated. They also wanted to extend their gratitude to Community Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Mark’s final days.
Mark will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, his independent spirit, his affection for animals, and the many memories he created with family and friends. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
