Lori Ann Barnhill

With profound sadness and hearts full of love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Lori Ann Barnhill, who peacefully entered eternal rest on July 27, 2026, at the age of 63.

Born on March 4, 1963, in Haines City, Florida, to the late David and Vera Fason, Lori eventually made Hudson, New York, her home. There, she built a life rooted in family, faith, laughter, and unconditional love.

Lori was many things to many people, but to those who knew and loved her most, she was simply Mom, Grandma, Sister, and Friend. She had a personality that could light up a room. She was outspoken, funny, loving, and never one to sugarcoat the truth. If someone was testing her patience, you could always count on hearing one of her favorite sayings: "I'll light that ass up like a Christmas tree!" It was classic Lori—said with just enough seriousness to make you think twice, but with the humor and personality that always made those around her laugh.

Her greatest joy in life was her family. She was the proud and devoted mother of Martika Swanigan and Manazhia Atkins, whom she loved with every piece of her heart. She celebrated their accomplishments, comforted them through life's hardships, and never stopped believing in them. The love between a mother and her daughters is everlasting, and that bond will continue beyond this life.

Nothing made Lori smile brighter than her grandchildren, Ma'Kiyla Fason, Devonn Swanigan, and Zhavia Miller. Being their grandmother was one of her greatest blessings. Whether it was spoiling them, laughing with them, or simply enjoying their presence, every moment spent with them was precious. Her love and wisdom will forever remain a part of who they become.

Lori was a woman who truly loved to cook. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting smells of homemade meals prepared with love for her family. Feeding those she loved was one of the ways she expressed her heart. Yet, as much as she enjoyed cooking, anyone who knew Lori also knew she could never turn down a delicious turkey sandwich from Ock's on First and Warren—one of her hometown favorites that always hit the spot.

Music was another love of Lori's life. Whether it was filling the house with her favorite songs or simply enjoying the rhythm of the moment, music brought her peace, joy, and comfort. It became the soundtrack to countless family memories that will now be cherished forever.

Above all else, Lori's faith was her foundation. She believed deeply in God and trusted that He always had the final say. Even during life's most difficult battles, she leaned on her faith for strength and hope. Her belief reminded those around her that while life may be uncertain, God's love never wavers.

Lori leaves behind her loving siblings, Wanda, Jackie, Vera, and Robert Fason, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and lifelong friends whose lives were forever touched by her kindness, humor, and strength.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Vera and David Fason, whom she loved dearly and is now reunited with in eternal peace.

To know Lori was to know someone who loved fiercely, laughed loudly, spoke honestly, and cared deeply. She taught us that family is everything, that a good meal brings people together, that music can heal the soul, and that faith can carry you through even the darkest days.

As her daughters, our hearts are broken. There are no words that can truly express how much we miss her or how deeply she is loved. We miss hearing your voice, your laughter, your advice, your cooking, and even the sayings that only you could make unforgettable. Though our hearts ache, we find comfort knowing your pain has ended and that you are finally at peace in God's loving embrace.

Mom, thank you for every sacrifice you made, every lesson you taught, every meal you cooked, every laugh you gave us, and every hug that made everything feel okay. Your love shaped us into the women we are today, and your legacy will live on through your children, your grandchildren, and everyone blessed enough to know you.

Though you are no longer with us in body, your love surrounds us every day. We will carry you in our hearts for the rest of our lives, until we meet again.

Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever missed.
