Charles Orlando, 80 of Stone Mill Rd. in Claverack, NY passed away on Friday November 3, 2017 at Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, NY.
He was born on May 30, 1937 in Mt. Vernon, NY the son of Samuel and Frances (Basilotta) Orlando.
He was a graduate of Edison High School in Mt. Vernon and later was employed as a supervisor with Globe Auto Parts, also in Mt. Vernon.
Charlie served his country with the United States Army from 1960 – 1963 and later as a reservist with the Army National Guard, 42 nd Battalion. He was a member of the Hudson American Legion Post #184 and a life member of the Copake VFW Post.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Hope Parish in Copake Falls, a Eucharistic minister, member of the bereavement committee and assisted with the weekly Wednesday Men’s Work Group. He was also a 4 th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus #316 in Hudson, NY.
On April 10, 1999 at St. Bridget’s Roman Catholic Church he married Corinne (McGowan) Orlando who survives him at home in Claverack.
Also surviving are his children, Diedre and Charles; his step children, Margaret, Tommy, John, Kathleen, Patricia, Robert, Theresa and Brian. He also leaves 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by one grandchild.
Friends are invited and may call on Monday November 6, 2017 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Route 22 in Copake, NY.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday November 7, 2017 at 10 AM from the Parish of Our Lady of Hope in Copake Falls, NY.
Interment services with military honors will be held at 1:30 PM at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley, NY.
