Carolyn S. Piazza

Carolyn, “Sue” Piazza, 84, of Elizaville, New York, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026 with family and beloved pets at her side. Sue spent most of her life in the Northeast where she raised her family and later retired to Florida to enjoy the sun and relax in her lanai by the pool. She ultimately returned North to be with family.

She was a fun-loving person with a beautiful smile who made friends easily. She loved animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed raising Monarch butterflies, and taught whomever was interested in learning how. For many years, the family would gather in Bedford, New York, on Sundays, where there was much laughter, card games, and good food. She liked to play poker, go to Foxwoods for Bingo and slots, and visit the ocean and beaches. She founded “Light of Hope”, “ for which a yellow heart was symbolic. The group provided comfort and support for the families of US troops, including sending care packages and organizing special activities to raise funds. She was an avid Elvis fan for her entire life and would light up anytime she watched him perform. She loved playing Yahtzee and other games with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Salvatore Piazza, of Florida, four children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. There will be no services at time.
