Bruce A. Benham

1961 — 2026

Stanfordville, NY

Bruce Benham, 64, of Stanfordville, NY passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on January 7th, 2026. He was born in Poughkeepsie, New York and was raised in Verbank, until age 11. He spent the rest of his adolescence in Hamilton, Texas where he tended to the family farm.

He returned to New York in the early 1980’s where he met his wife, Catherine, and began his multiple successful businesses, including pool maintenance, property management, and the trading card shop. Together they had two kids, who he always said were his greatest accomplishment.

Those that knew Bruce knew he was a selfless man. He was always looking out for the underdog and cared for those who were less fortunate than himself. He had a strong work ethic that stemmed from his time on the farm and summers working with his dad. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially college football because “the players still love the game”. Bruce also loved rock music, and had fun watching old recordings of concerts on YouTube after a long day of work.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Benham; son, Travis Benham and his fiancé Sierra; daughter, Hannah Linnane and her husband Garrett; sister, Melanie Benham and her partner Dave; along with many adoring nieces, nephews, and in-laws. He was also awaiting the arrival of his first grandson, who he was so excited for.

Bruce is predeceased by his mother, Arlene Anderson; father, Sidney Benham; and nephew, Anthony Campanella.

There will be private services for family at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Peck & Peck Funeral Homes, Pine Plains. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Cardinal Hayes Home for Children in Millbrook, New York. Please send a check to P.O. box C H Millbrook NY 12545 or call (845) 677-6363.
