Blair W. Price, affectionately known as “Rocky,” passed away on September 19, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He was born on September 18, 1961, in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, and lived a life marked by hard work, dedication, and a profound love for his family and friends. At the young age of 17, he moved to the area to be closer to his sister, Barbara Murphy and begin a new life for himself.
Blair began his career around 1980 at the Joseph Parker Farm, where he devoted himself until his final days. His passion for working with horses was evident, and his commitment to the land and animals was a testament to his workaholic nature. In addition to his work on the farm, he served as a caretaker for the historic Wethersfield Estate in Amenia, demonstrating his reliability and dedication in every role he took on.
An avid hunter in his youth, Rocky also appreciated the tranquility of fishing. His enthusiasm for the great outdoors was matched only by his loyalty to the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed moments spent with friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Blair is survived by his sisters, Deborah (Doug) Closser, Holly (Clarence) Ely, and Sally (Steve) Pachol, all residing in Waynesburg, PA, along with his two brothers, Charles (Judy) Price and Brian “Butch” Price also from Waynesburg. He leaves behind cherished nieces Laura Maisonet, Amy Holsapple, and Kara Murphy, along with an extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Barbara Murphy and Marcia Morris.
In keeping with Rocky's wishes, a small memorial service will be held at a later time for family.
