Alfred McCauley, 87, of Hillsdale, NY, died June 15, 2018, after a short illness.
Born on June 30, 1930 in Ancramdale, NY, he was the son of the late Wilmer and Inez (Boyles) McCauley.
Before retiring, in 1992, Alfred was employed by the Chas. Pfizer Inc. in Canaan, CT. He was employed there for 37 years.
Al, as he was known to many, always had a special place in his heart for his children and grandchildren. Family was everything to Al.
He also enjoyed hobbies such as bowling, hunting, and gardening. Al was known for having a great sense of humor and his practical jokes.
Al is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Janetta (Stalker) McCauley of Hillsdale, NY, his son Alfred Jr. (Wanda) of Copake, NY and his daughter Terry Meltz (Don) of Stockport, NY. He also leaves behind his four cherished grandchildren: Jennifer McCauley Miller, as well as Hilary, Chloe, and Isaac Meltz. He has a great grandson, Enzo Miller.
Also surviving, is a sister, Marjorie Butler along with many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by several brothers and sisters.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, June 19 th from 5pm to 7pm at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home in Copake, NY. The funeral service will be held at the same location on Wednesday, June 20 th at 11am.
