Message from Friends and Family

I am so sorry for your loss. She was such a great lady. May she Rest In Peace

Michele, Ancram , NY USA

To the family of Pete, We want to send our deepest sympathy for the loss of Pete. What a woman! She never slowed down. Can hear her voice yelling at the side lines when I was in sports in school, the huge wave we got when walking past her bus in the bus yard, and the catch up chats we had when we would see her in town. She lives on in all her children and grand children. A beautiful life that came to end, Pete died as she lived, everyone's friend. In our hearts a memory will always be kept, of the one we loved and will never forget. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. God Bless.

Pete was an amazing lady. She taught me so much about softball and I had the honor to play many games with her on the fields. Her children and grandchildren were always the #1 love of her life. She will be missed by so many people. Many memories of staying at her house and the fun times we all shared. She was a bright spot in your day whenever you ran into her. Fly with the Angels now Pete and teach them how to play softball...RIP

To the children and grandchildren of Lillian "Pete" Campbell. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I will always cherish the memories I have from our childhood. With Love, Uncle Andy She is an object of beauty and strength and I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come down to mingle with each other. Then someone at my side says, "There! She's gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight -- that is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side, and just as able to bear her load of living freight to the place of destination. Her diminished size is in me, not in her; and just at the moment when someone at my side says "There! She's gone," there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, "There she comes!"

Pete Campbell was one of the many people who made me who I am. I have so many fond memories of her, from Sunday school at the Craryville United Methodist Church, from driving the bus for Taconic Hills or coaching from the sidelines at the Titans football games. She and Judge Campbell were so important to the community, campaigning for the beautiful school that Taconic Hills is now, helping people all over the community whenever they needed it, and just being a rock for all of us. God bless the Campbell family in this time of loss. Much love, Rev. John Magisano

Such a very special lady with such a wonderful family. Thinking of how happy she is to be reunited with Charlene and the rest of her family who have gone before her. We've lived in Florida for over 30 years and seldom had the opportunity to visit "Pete" in person over the years, but received a holiday card with a personal note every single year. She accomplished so much, was an example to so many and lives on in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her legacy of integrity, good humor and compassion has surely been passed on and she has truly made the world a better place because of it. Love to all her family.

Brenda Distler, Boca Raton, FL USA

Dear Campbell Family, So sorry to hear of Pete's passing. She was an important figure during my childhood. From driving my school bus to helping out at Little League practices and games, she was forever willing to help and care for others and never ask for anything in return. She always had a smile on her face and always took the time to ask how I was doing, regardless of how busy she was. She was truly a remarkable woman who will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dear Carolyn, I am sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Her obituary certainly revealed what a great life she had! My Dad (he's 92) went out to buy the paper just to read about her; he said she was a great lady and a great ball player ... he used to love playing softball with her ... he says it was a long time ago and she was the best player he's ever played with. Love, Sally
