JOAN T. ZATKOVICH

JOANIE, our loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend went to Heaven on Tuesday September 12, 2017.

Theresa Joan was born to Anna Galicka and Frank Sawicki on August 18, 1931.

Married November 19, 1949, to a returning Navy sailor, John J. Zatkovich, who went to heaven before her in February of 1970.

She has left behind her daughter, Trudeann Dalton and husband Thomas of Copake, NY.  Son, John Zatkovich and wife Kathy Molloy of Yonkers, NY, and youngest daughter Diana Borecky of Bloomington, IN.

Her grandchildren are Kayla Lyons, studying to be a registered nurse and her husband Josh who are living in Bloomington IN.   Stephanie Zatkovich, business entrepreneur, from Yonkers, NY.  Matthew Zatkovich, serving in the U.S. Navy.  Stephen Borecky, a business professional in Seattle, Washington, step granddaughters Helena Dalton of Eastchester, NY a CPA, in NYC and Debra Dalton of Eastchester, NY a mother and hair stylist, and great granddaughter, Sophia.

She also leaves behind her loving niece Judy Hartley and her best friend Anne Dalton, and many niece, nephews and friends.

Joanie, was an instructor at the Carvel institute, and retired from Graphite Metalizing in 1994.

She loved living in Copake where cows and chicken’s where her only traffic problems.

We ask all her family and friends to join us for a ‘CELEBRATION OF LIFE’, on November 19, from 2:00 to 4:00 at the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, 8063 State Route 22 in Copake, NY followed by a luncheon.

We ask in lieu of flowers for you to donate to your local animal shelter and/or library. Mom was a great lover of her books and her pets.
