James W. “Butch” Decker, 80 a former longtime resident of Hillsdale, NY went home to be with his loving wife on Monday March 19, 2018.
He was born on May 1, 1937 in Gt. Barrington, MA a son of Raymond G. and Eleanor (Eichesdt) Decker.
Prior to his retirement he was employed at Gingras Lumber in Ashley Falls, MA.
Butch loved golfing, thoroughbred racing and was a devoted member of the “morning coffee club” at the Hillsdale House.
He was pre deceased by his wife Rose (Wadman) Decker and a step son Valentine G. Wadman.
Survivors include a daughter and son, Ann Decker and James Decker Jr., both of Arizona; three stepchildren, Dore Ramos of Hudson, Peggy Kimpel of Georgia and Michael Wadman of Hillsdale. He also leaves his siblings, 17 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday March 30, 2018 at 11 AM from the Peck and Peck Funeral Home in Copake, NY with the Rev. Kenneth Phesay officiating.
Friends are invited and may call at the funeral home from 10 – 11 prior to the service.
Spring interment will be in the West Copake Cemetery.
