My deepest condolences to Jerry's family and all who knew Jerry. As you well know, he was such a wonderful person who inspired anyone who knew him to be a better, more caring person. I worked with him at Aquinas High School for two years (1966-68).. Our lives took us in totally different geographical locations and I lost track of him for many years. I thought so many times about how he mentored me not only as a principal in my first job out of college but also as a trusting friend. I am also so glad that I located him last year and was able to have a wonderful conversation with him by phone.. We talked about so many things that day and had made plans to try to meet in person in NYC sometime in the future. Unfortunately, that never happened. But I wanted you to know that he shaped my life in so many, many positive ways.. May God bless all of you in your missing him for I am sure his parting has left a huge gap in your lives.. In my estimation,, I do now have someone up there closer with God who I can pray to even as I pray for him. I only hope that this condolence reaches you since it is so many months before I found out.

I am so sorry for the loss of your loved one. I knew him when he was the Principal of Aquinas High School in Fort Madison, IA. He came to Aquinas the year I was a freshman in 1964 and left in 1968 when I graduated. He was not only a wonderful Principal, but also a wonderful man, and we all looked up to him and respected him. I have many fond memories of him and his days at Aquinas. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

I am so sad of this news. Please accept my deepest sympathies. Dr. Kraus was my therapist for over 25 years. He changed my life. How fortunate I was to have such an understanding therapist and friend.

Dear Cecele & Kraus family,

We are sad to hear of Jerry's passing, but we hold so many memories of him in our hearts from the days when you both attended St. Bridget's Church. Here is a poem that Jerry seems to embody:
The Soul
of one who has died
can live in us
just like the soul
of an unborn child
lives in its mother.
The one who has died
wishes to be a seed;
hoping that
out of his death
Something will be born.

Gerry was one of the kindest men I have ever known.
A gentle soul who's mission was to help others.
We will miss him dearly.
