Amenia, NY – Charles D. Ryan Sr., 89, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT.

He was born on May 28, 1929 in Poughkeepsie, NY the son of Leon and Betsy Ryan.

Charles drove truck for Staat’s Transport in Red Hook, NY.

On November 21, 1951 in Smithfield, NY he married Emily (Morey) Ryan. She predeceased him on January 3, 2005.

 He was predeceased by his son Charles Ryan Jr 1985; grandson Lee Ryan 2004.

Survivors include six children, Leslie Ryan of Dallas, GA; Colleen Curcio of Cape Coral, FL; Lorraine Ryan of Clinton Corners, NY. Doug Ryan of Barkhamsted, CT; Dale Ryan of Rhinebeck, NY; Mike Ryan of Pine Plains, NY; eleven Grandchildren, George Lauster; Billie-Jo Slingerland; Russell Wright; Leslie Ryan; Michael Ryan; Dale Ryan; Katie Ryan; Dionta Ryan; Danielle Ryan; Alexandra Ryan; Kristyn Ryan

Great Grandchildren, Laiken Singerland; Nicholas Mullis; Kimberly Breran

He is also survived by a sister, Doris Olsen of Salt Point, NY

There are no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held at 10 AM on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery, Pine Plains, NY with Rev. Carol Miller officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Assocation – 2 Jefferson Plz Ste 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
